The UK based V8Thunder racing league proudly presents The 2011 V8Thunder Cup

In a slight departure from the previous Trophy Nascar series offered at V8Thunder,
We are happy to announce a full 36 race series mirroring the Sprint Cup schedule for 2011.
The opening race will be V8thunder's inaugural 'V8Thunder Cup Daytona 500' taking place on Thursday 24th February.
Incorporating the chase for the Top 12 drivers, and encountering the best virtual tracks of America, stopping at various legendary raceways from Bristol to Talladega, Sonoma to Loudon. The series will run on subsequent Thursday's throughout the year, leading to the 1st V8Thunder Cup Champion being crowned at Homestead in November.

The Series will utilise the BullRing NR2003 Sprint Cup Mod with standard Cup physics,Open setups and Hardcore mode (Open views).
RaceDay events will run to the following schedule : Practice from 18:30 BST UK
Qualifying begins at 20:00 BST UK time (presently 21:00 CET - 15:00 ET)
A short Briefing/Happy Hour and the race will follow with a estimated Start at 20:15 BST UK
To encourage preparation from all the participants, an open practice session will take place each Wednesday, a day prior to the race with a base setup provided.

Previously V8Thunder has been maintained and funded by the Administrators and also latterly by Board members
in exchange for privileges such as access to a sub forum, additional car files and input on upcoming series.
In fact the V8Thunder Cup format was largely based on Board members decisions, democracy in action.
Now all participating drivers will be required to pay an entry fee of €5.
A months grace will be given with payment expected before 20th March,We feel that €5 is a nominal fee to participate in a 36 race series lasting 10 months.
All funds will be used to maintain the V8Thunder Website/Hosting & Online Servers.

Granted, Due to circumstance and timing, the off season is going to be a short one, so provisionial points of a pre-determined amount will be given to drivers joining the series late, up to a point. But racers like to race!
So we can look forward to an exciting series ahead at V8Thunder and welcome all drivers to take their place in
The Great American Race at Daytona on 24th February 2011.

May the best man Win. :flag:

Entries are now open, click Enter Series on the top menu to access the entry form.

Car Numbers
Anybody who scored points in 2 or more races last season have had their numbers reserved and locked out of the entry form (I won't bore you with it, but it's a pain in the arse when someone registers with a number already in use), if you want to use the same number again, write SAME in the appropriate box and we'll do the rest, if you want to change your number, well change it, if you put in your existing number, you won't be able to submit the entry form until you either change the selection to SAME or another number.

Entry fees
Entry fees are due by the 20th March 2011, please wait until you have received the email confirming your entry before making the payment (as the Paypal link will be included, don't use the one at the top of the forum because this is in the wrong currency).

Downloads Area and email lists
Unlike last season, everybody will be removed from the Group which allows access to the series downloads section of the forum, and race day emails, then re-entered into the group once your entry is received, so you may not be able to access the downloads section for a short time, this will be rectified within time.

Please give us a few days to work through the entries at first, as there is still a lot of work to the done server side to get the series up and running, including some major recoding to some pages.
