Sorry but there's nothing about Camden Town that's cool, that's Amy Winehouse country.
I'm surprised she isn't in the photo's trying to score those white lines in the picture.

And Andy shame on you too, that's a bus lane!

But of course if this thing comes running at you hailing a cab:

hit the gas pedal and I'm sure the other residents of Camden will thank you

Ian, I don't want to get into it over the highway code, but it's my understanding that Bus Lanes may also be used by Cyclists and Taxis, hence the taxi lamp above the windscreen on my Chevy.

Unless the taxis drafting me in the photo are also breaking the law :)

you are entirely correct, but you said the car isn't a licensed hackney carriage, which makes it a car.
Doesn't matter, as long as you hit Winehouse I don't care if you drive in the bus lane.

The way I drive, she's dead if she's between me and the inside wall.

Looking back at the replay of yesterday's Taxi run, I did actually have an opportunity to wreck Winehouse, but alas, I thought she was just a crack whore prostitute and so I swerved right to avoid her. Dang.

Not really, simply a 6 hour round trip to Camden Town, driving my bogus racetaxi up and down the High Street waiting for Amy to appear looking like a lady of the night. 6 hours well spent!

SRD AJI to run limited Inters Schedule for #77

--Pompeii, Italy

SRD AJI today announced that the #77 team would run Chevrolet Cobalt in the Summer 2009 Inters championship. Andrew Jones will be taking advantage of the relaxed licensing laws and stepping up to race with the top stars in the sport. The team has not received additional sponsorship for this car, the existing Truck and Lites sponsor logos are on the car due to an increased level of support from last year. However, this is not enough to enable the team to run all the races, so taking a page from the Wood Brothers playbook, the team will run a limited schedule this season on the tracks that give us the greatest chance of success. How many races will depend on how the schedule pans out.

Andrew Jones - "I'm grateful to everyone involved for this project happening; this year we hope to get some experience running with the big boys in the top active league. Sure, it's a concern that we haven't signed a big sponsorship deal to run all the races, but this economic situation is not one that big name sponsors are easy to come by. We will not threaten our Lites and Trucks programs by shifting the funds to the Inters ride, instead we will look to run between 4-6 races which we feel we can afford. Obviously, if we don't wreck a whole bunch of cars we will be able to run more, I'll really have to take care of the equipment this year. The cool thing about this is that we have a really great paint scheme on the car this year, it's refreshing to not have to resort to painting in corporate colours, I guess this is like our version of Honda's Earth Car. This announcement is the best of the three we have done, no disrespect to France or Camden Town, but it's really great to bring the car out here, I've always wanted to visit Pompeii and the whole deal ties in with the paint scheme."

#77 team unveil new car at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

--Indianapolis, In

The SRD AJI #77 team today unveiled the new Indycar at the world's most famous racetrack, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The car features a paint scheme based on the Summer '09 V8 Thunder Truck series Chevrolet Silverado and is sponsored by Ecover, Water Aid, LV= and Unite the Union. The car has a Chevrolet engine and Firestone tyres and will be driven by Andrew Jones, beginning this Tuesday in the Duff Beer Classic rounds at Texas and Michigan.

Andrew Jones - "Man it's great to get back in a single-seater car, I got my simracing start in F1GP on the Amiga and this Indycar is just great. I want to thank my great sponsors for their continued commitment to running whatever cars are out there, I will try to get the best finishes I can on Tuesday. Hopefully, if these cars are liked, we could come back here to Indiana and run a fun race here at Indy, it is after all, where these cars run best. I would definitely be up for some of that action!"

Andrew Jones invites his Duff Classic opponents to download his car here

#77 team all-star crew announced for upcoming season

SRD AJI today announced wholesale changes to the crew on the #77 teams, effective immediately. Evil corporate islander Charles Widmore has become Car Owner, Ageing Alternative Icon Henry Rollins is the Crew Chief, with Amy Winehouse given a chance to turn her life around as Car Chief.

Andrew Jones - "Man, there will be some harsh words over the radio this year, hopefully we can all get on the same page and the changes that have been made will benefit the team as we attempt to build on consecutive rookie titles."

SRD AJI drivers win Rookie of the Season awards in Lites and Trucks

A fantastic début season for the SRD AJI merged team concluded with the seasonal V8 Thunder awards presentation, where two of the teams drivers received awards.

Lites Rookie of the Season Winter 09 - #4 David Bischoff

Image

With a record of 3 wins, 11 top 5's, 20 top 10's and 4 poles, David Bischoff drove the #4 TrackIR Chevrolet to a 7th place finish in the championship, establishing himself as a contender for the championship in future seasons. A limited schedule worked against Bish, but he easily won Rookie of the Season honours for back-to-back Lites honours for AJI.

Trucks Rookie of the Season Winter 09 - #77 Andrew Jones

Image

With 5 top 10 finishes offsetting the 5 DNF's he suffered, Andrew Jones drove the #77 The Work Bench Chevrolet to a 14th place finish in the championship, beating off the competition of the rookie class to win his second rookie of the season title in successive seasons. Running all the races for the first time in any of V8 Thunder's series, Jones had a best finish of 8th at Mallory Park.

First ever race winner for SRD AJI - #45 Stephen Jones

Stephen made history when he drove the #45 Lego Chevrolet to victory lane in SRD AJI's first ever race at Texas World Speedway. He backed this up with a record of 2 wins and 3 poles from his 16 races in Lites, the schedule not being kind to the Aussie as he had to start and park several times and missed other races in order to fulfil educational commitments. Should he ever run all the races to the finish, the young Victorian's clean and fast driving style would surely have him right up at the top of the standings
