A spokesperson of the Whirlwind Team has announced that #07 Gino Martens will retire from the Trucks Championships for the remaining races, excluded Daytona. Reason is, besides inexperiency, that 2 races a week is a bit too much and 1 had to fall out. The choice for Trucks is easily made if you look at the Lites Standings. Gino Martens: "I find it very difficult to retire for the remaining races, but will try to drive Daytona since that track isn't the hardest track to drive. After my mistakes of Talladega and lately also Atlanta, I feel I do have much more to learn before I can join the Trucks series. The open setups are the most difficult thing to overcome, and I want to take the time to learn and come back in January."
