V8 Thunder announces new season details. The European based V8 Thunder Nascar Racing 2003 Game online racing series, which caters for complete novices to experienced simracers the world over, has announced their Autumn 2008 Schedule and opened up Registrations for the 3 series. Now in it's 5th year of operation, V8Thunder continues to provide close, exciting racing between the best sim-racers in Europe.
The 12 Round series kicks off at Michigan on 16th September with the Novice "Lites" taking to the track first, followed by the intermediate Truck series on the 17th, and the headline Trophy series on the Thursday evening for a 100 laps thrash around one of the fastest tracks on the calendar. Summer 2008 Champions' Sanjin Haler (Trophy, vMaxSR), Caspar Kahari (Trucks, vMaxSR) and Sergey Rebrov (Lites, Independent) will have strong competition in the defence of their crowns.
For the first time in V8 Thunder history, both the Trucks and Trophy series will have yellow flags switched off on one oval race, yellows are always switch off on V8T road courses events, but this season Rockingham UK has been picked for the first oval as it produced the highest number of cautions in the Summer 2008 season, which is sure introduce a need for drivers to adjust their driving style for 119 & 136 laps on the ultra tough English oval. The Lites series will continue with it's traditional yellows off/yellows on double header short race format, a formula V8 have found trains drivers well for the transition to Trucks & Trophy. Other highlights include a debut for Safer Barrier Project tracks and a return to Pocono for the Lites and Truck series. The single Road Course foray this season see's Lites and Trucks visiting Lime Rock Park, and Trophy a visit to Riverside International Raceway.
Sanjin Haler celebrates his 2008 Summer Championship Victory at Homestead Miami Speedway.
