Don't talk to me about cars, apparently some bright spark in Japan decided 12 years ago to stop using distributor caps and put the ignition coils directly onto the plugs on Nissan's, end result is if one goes down, it's £100 for a new one from Nissan (£400 if the whole lot crap out), half the price from Euro Car Parts, but still too expensive.
Fortunately I have a baggy coat and managed to sneak 3 out the scrap yard while paying £10 for the fourth (well if one goes, likelihood the others will at some point too).
Then had to spend an hour on google trying to find out how to reset the engine management light on the dash, to only find out through trial and error that disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes has the same effect....
2/3rds of a day, 5 mile walk, new plugs, new ignition coil on #4 and a new air filter, and the car is finally not sounding like a tractor...
