Okay, first of, this is nothing that needs to be solved ASAP, but it still would be nice if somebody could help me with it.

The problem is, that my laptop (which I only race on in holidays) has some weird behaviour when trying to connect to the server.

Everything works fine, if I try to connect to the server, while being connected to the internet via WiFi. The strange thing is, if I switch the WiFi of, and use an ethernet cable for internet connection, I can't get onto the server. It seems to be something specific to NR2003, as the only other game where it does that is iRacing.

As I said, it's nothing too important, but still would be neat if solved.

what's listed under "Select Connection Method" on the multiplayer client page (the page you get to after clicking Multiplayer).

It sounds like you have different host settings for the Wifi and wired, and the game is trying to resolve or route through the Wifi which isn't connected, do you get more than one option under "Select Connection Method".

Or it could be something simple like the ethernet cable is the wrong type, cross or patch? can you get onto the internet with the ethernet cable under *insert browser name of choice*

I've tried it with either Wifi or ethernet, so it isn't a problem with the connection method.

Pretty much everything else works just as normal with the ethernet cable. I can connect to Steam, Skype, etc.. and play other online games without any problems.

The only 2 games doing that are NR2003 and iRacing...

Have you posted at iR? they might have a solution that works for both (that's assuming you don't get eaten alive for admitting to still playing NR2k3).
