A couple of time i installed the game brand new on win 7 / 32 bit

After a while the game crashed again and again, online and offline.

Then i unticked the 3d sound button and the problem was gone.

" i love windows "

I think the 3d sound being ticked has always been a problem hasn`t it, even with the older versions of windows?

Yeah it's more a hardware issue than OS.

I can't remember the specifics, but I think it's just bad implementation of the code causes instability with some chips, just so happens the particular chip is now found in 99% of PC's.

Having major issues :( since reinstalling my nVidia drivers for win10 anniversary edition, the graphics went blurry again so I tried to do all the changes I did last time but then the graphics went completely broken and now I went back to originals the game does a graphics config every time I run the game and then it crashes :/ any help? Tried a fresh reinstall but its not fixed anything :(

Thanks!

Think its down to my graphics driver :/ even if i make it into a test session, if go back to the main menu and go back into a test session it goes back into the config then crashes :(

Make sure the config utility isn't selecting opengl as the rendering engine, and/or if it isn't, try selecting it, see how it performs.

You can run the config utility without running the game, it's called config.exe iirc.

Hi Ian,

Updated my graphics drivers, now the game runs ok but it still does the graphics config each time i click testing/single race/etc. I've applied the anisotropic settings in the Nvidia control panel so it looks half decent but got all the blurry liveries in game because it keeps changing the core and rend files :(

When I run it in openGL it only does the config detection once unless I try to override the settings but it forces it to some butt ugly settings :(

put a - in the texture set size to sharpen things up:

TextureSetSize=-13713408

But if it's running the config each time, it might not work.

Have you tried firing up the game without the nvidia control panel running?

yeah the former makes no difference because it changes every time.

Mmmm.... I'll give that a go.

EDIT: no difference :( wtf is doing every time?! :wall:

Edit: Is there a way to disable the config tool?

no, I suspect it's not seeing your graphics card properly.

Windoze 10 for yer...

(Personally I have a separate hard drive with TinyXP on for NR2k3 and just swap the boot device in the bios every Thursday).

Ok so for reasons i can get it to run without the constant config malarky with OpenGL, which now looks absolutely gorgeous but is absolute w*nk in performance... I mean my PC is not the best but I'm expecting more than 4fps in a 13 year old game when I can get Assetto Corsa running pretty smooth on 80% graphics.... Any tips for openGL?
