Hi all,

In need of a bit of advice.

I have been trying to capture a race replay with FRAPS. Im not editing any of the footage with CCM, just switching the camera to focus on different cars. I can just about live with the time it takes to capture a whole 25 lap race with FRAPS ( although if anyone can suggest better video capuring software *free* and that records ingame sound that would be good) When i play the video back in window media player, the footage runs in 'slow motion, frame by frame' just as it was when being captured in game. Am i doing something wrong?

I have made videos before tha seemed to capture ok but it was so long ago i have forgotten what i used back then.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

cheers,

Chris

FRAPS captures what you see in the game, so if the game runs at 1fps, it will run like that in the captured video.

Couple of tips - If you have a not-so-powerful processor, set FRAPS to capture Half-Size and maybe at 30fps to 50fps at the most. The game will then be capped at that rate and that rate will be recorded. Make sure Vertical Sync is turned off as well in your graphics card's control panel and the game's Graphics configuration program.

I tried using GPL2AVI and that worked ok but it captured at a ridiculously low speed and didnt record the sound. I tried changing the settings as you suggested for FRAPS but im afraid it made no difference.

wish i could remember how i did it before

What I ideally want is a program that will capture the vid so i can watch it at normal speed and that will not take ages to capture a replay.
