Please help me!

I've begun building a track using Sandbox based on a real life 2 mile oval. I have a satellite image of it courtesy of Google Maps, which I have saved as both a .bmp and .tga image. It is my understanding that I should be able to drop this into Sandbox in order to use as a guide to lay out the track. I have tried making it into a .mip using Mip Explorer, but when I attempt to import the background into Sandbox, it just turns the black background white. Trial and error is not working, so can anyone suggest what I should do?

I've never used mip explorer (I use winmip2) so something *could* be wrong with that one that I don't know about but what I do is:
1: go to Adjust and select Background Image and pick the mip
2: go to View and tick Background Image
Then the really fun part of getting the background image scaled right starts :)
I use google earth and in that one there is a ruler so when I take the screenshot I have that one activated and visible somewhere just outside the track. After I've loaded the mip as background I go to View and select Linear Guide. Now you should see a small white box in the center of the track. Leftclick and drag and you'll see it's a ruler and the length is displayed in the middle to the right. Now go to Adjust and start adjusting the values until the ruler from google earth and the linear guide from sandbox are the same length.

i have been busy to build my first track for rFactor, using Bob's Track Builder. I just have finished my first one. Although a lot has to be done, it is a very nice track to start with.

Hi I want to try to build a track as well, just a very simple one :P Have talked already about it with Ian, but I want to see if it's nice to build a giant oval that is so big that it looks like you're going straight all the time :P Is that possible (don't need anything else but road :P) and is it difficult?

It is very easy to build a huge Oval. More difficult is the pitstalls. I have to learn that.

A small glimpse of how the track looks like. It is still under construction.
