Would like to get an idea on how you have it set up in Windows and ingame.

I know a few of you have this wheel.Trying to get an idea of how it should really be setup.

I don't think I did anything special.

Install Logitech Wingman, calibrate it there.

In game, I have the pedals set as expected, the gear stick in sequential mode, the paddles for looking right and left and the right button on the wheel for Ventrilo communication.
I limited wheel rotation to 270 degrees (I think), and that's plenty enough to simulate real NASCAR cars.

I'm not using any of the buttons on the gear shift module, because I don't find them useful. Maybe I should map them to F2, F3, F4, etc. but

I don't bother using the profiler, just used the default setup with a few tweaks in the Control Panel.

Obviously I took the Combined Axis off, 200* rotation, left all the sliders at 100%, and put the Centring Spring on at 70% (took a bit of playing about to get a value I liked).

I use H-pattern shifting (anything else in NASCAR is just blasphemy :P), the right button for Vent, and a few of the buttons on the shifter for various things like looking around. Good idea with the paddles for that Folco, might try it when I get the wheel working again.

I used the profiler and configured it to use with NRAssistant to map the information screens (F1,F2, ...) on them.

So the two buttons on the wheel used for left/right scrolling of the information menus.

1 button on the shifter mapped to spacebar

POV mapped to up arrow, down arrow, left arrow, right arrow for scrolling/adjusting inside the menus

Left paddle mapped to Ventrillo Comm.

For looking around, I use my TrackIR 4 Pro, which allows 6DOF.

I shift with the stick in sequential mode.

i think i have a problem with my steering wheel. G25

but to be shure i would like to have someone else who also has a G25 try this setup for Road America.

When i brake for a corner the braking behaviour is like it is a pulsating one. Almost like 100%/50%/100%/50% and so on.
Also when i accelerate it only really goes on the trottle when i have the steering wheel straight. When not it is almost as if the engine is squeezed.

I have a G25, but I didn't experience any of the problems you described, using your setup.

Sounds like you're pots are dirty Erwin, pull the cover off it, turn it upside down and spray contact cleaner into to pots, move the pots through their entire range a couple times and problem should be fixed.

Image
Spray it into the gold casing where the three wires come out (not on the wires), one short squirt should do it.

The reason it's only happening when you turn the wheel to certain paces is because the wheel powers the pedals, when you turn the wheel the power drops, with clean pots it doesn't cause any problem but with dirty ones you get the pulsating effect.

Also consider a Bodnar box, what this does is turns the pedals into a second controller and they're powered from the USB port (we're talking tiny current so little spikes make a big difference), the box also changes the resolution of the pedals fro 256 steps to 1024 steps, giving you a lot more brake and throttle control.

Thanks Ian, i will look at it this weekend! :arcade:
I had this problem at a lot of Road Courses. And today it also was a problem with one of the two setups i worked on.
With the second setup i use the pedals less when braking, not 100%.
