This is starting to drive me mad now a few days ago i tried to go on pokerstars and it didnt work.
Then slowly everything else has stopped working, they get to the stage of trying to connect then no further.

I have turned off all the firewalls and tried making them allow the programmes incase somehow they cept on but that hasnt worked.
I dont understand it things were working fine before.

Live for speed still works and most websites apart from my uploader which doesent let me on. They all worked fine then suddenly stopped.
If it is a virus thats causing it i dont have any software to scan for them anymore and cant afford to buy any at £30 a shot :(

Can anyone think of any reason why these programmes are being restricted by my PC?

on your window screen at the bottom next to your globe internet sign there could be an exclamation mark with a square screen under it, right click that.

There just seems to be the globe on the bottom right and nothing else :-(
Thinking about it, there must have been a change in the software because all my history went and i started getting new messages popping up when i accessed my email account.

Exactly. Theres absolutely NO need to pay for AV software, I use AVG free too and have never been infected. You really must install an AV software but for the time being you can run an online scan at:

http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

After running the above you should probably install and run AVG Anti-Spyware (formerly Ewido).

If you want to be certain you're all clear download HijackThis, run it to create a log (don't fix anything with it) and post the log HERE where you'll get expert advice on how to remove any leftovers if you have been caught by anything.

I read over at their website and it seems that AVG 7.1 won't be free after Jan 15 but they'll release a new version (7.5, seems I aready have that one btw :P) that will be free for home users?

Edit: come to think of it, have you tried antispyware programs?
The ones I use are Ad Aware personal from here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-awa ... rsonal.php
and Spybot search and destroy from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Both are free :)

Correct, you just need to update to the newest version (7.5) which came out a few months back.
I use Spybot and AdAware too, along with AVG free, Ewido and Spyware Blaster. Combine that with a good free firewall, browsing with Firefox, regular cleaning with CCleaner and I've not had any kind of virus or malware in three years.

Back to the original problem, have you tried reinstalling your modem/router? Tried a different browser?
Did you try posting a Hijack This log on the CCleaner forum, they would be able to give you a better idea whats going on.
