Ehrenhardt the second must have landed in germany by now.

http://www.foxsports.com/nascar/shake-a ... r=22199141

Wonder if I should try to track him down, you know, just for sport
I doubt I am Liam Neeson enough though.

Yep, twitter saying he just landed.

I got it, I'll track him down and rearend his rental car on purpose.
When he gets out I'll throw a helmet at him. Wonder if he gets it :lmao:

Damn that Indycar race was nuts

That crash at the end with the #5 car? Jesus Christ, dude!!!

Saw it coming from 100 miles away though, pack racing in indycars is not a good idea

It's OK when the drivers are sensible.

When they start weaving all over the track and pushing people under the white line on lap 100 to defend their position, then it get's a bit crazy, kind of ironic that RHR blamed Montoya for the last lap crash, saying he was weaving over the track, right after Montoya was going into one about pack racing. Same for Power, jumping on the bandwagon, but had he stayed on his line and not tried to cut down, him and Sato wouldn't have crashed.

The Air Titan's have just gone out on track, but whether they have much chance for tonight is another thing. Even if it stops raining now I can't see them getting the track dry much before 3am here. According to locals the rain isn't due to stop till midnight there.

This plate package blows. The leader is way too unpassable.
That wreck was pretty nice though.

Just I watched Daytona. It was scary. My wife was watching almost all the race with me. She was in shock from the finish.

I think they need to put a second fence in at the yellow line (JR and Dave will know what I'm talking about, basically there is a yellow line a few meters back from the fence which is a no-go zone for spectators), it will perform two functions, stop small pieces of debris getting to the grandstand, and two if a car does manage to make it through the front fence, which Dillon was mighty close to doing, hopefully the cars momentum will have been considerably reduced to the point where the second fence will stop it completely, they're doing a massive rebuild of that section atm, and it only needs small modifications during building work to be completed.

I've mentioned this elsewhere and the answer I got was it will obstruct a persons view sat at the front, it won't any more than the original fence does already, when Champcar came to the UK they put a second layer of debris fencing in front of the stuff that was already there, and it's impact on your view was negligible.

It is just a matter of time before the law of averages catches up with NASCAR and given how the world now reacts to these kinds of things, I don't really think even NASCAR are stupid enough to knowingly want to deal with the aftermath of a car making it to the grandstand, they don't need the fence all the way round, just where the spectators are really close, like there.

In particular at the tri oval there should be a second fence. Just enough to catch the debris.

If you noticed, you could also see how much suction the cars generate when they pass. The hood was sucked back towards the fence.

I saw that, although I did wonder whether that was on a tether (I think they are) and it was yanked back towards the car before the tether snapped.

For me one of the most intriguing aspects was in one of the shots you can see this what looks like a massive black cable or wire hanging in the air behind the fence going over the crowd, but it doesn't seem to be attached to anything.

What is NASCAR doing? Are they coming up with a different package for every track now or are they just experimenting?
I've really grown tired of trying to keep up with changes lol

Someone at NASCAR is convinced the only way to improve the racing is to slap tons of downforce onto the cars, they don't seem to realise or understand that the more down force you out on, the bigger the advantage the lead car has.

Hopefully this little experiment at Indy will be a disaster and they might realise that the low down force package produced better racing, sadly the last lap pass for the win last night might give whoever is making these decisions tunnel vision, even though it was a perfect example of how high downforce doesn't work.

They need to get away from this 'downforce is the answer' and get back to old school, high cornering speeds doesn't produce good racing, anybody who's watched racing for any period of time can tell you that.
