Anybody watch the nationwide decider, it looked like nascar were playing god again with a 25 minute caution with 17 laps to go, so the #3 would win the championship,a very suspect ending.
Id love to have heard the audio amongst the officials. :)

I did not have the opportunity to watch the whole race because the stream i watched had huge lag problems or even just went down. It will be the last month i have paid for this crap.

For what i read, it was again a ridiculous decision, something for what NASCAR is known for.

But hey... Next year the Nationwide "champ" in maybe the #3 car, driving in the Sprint Cup Series.... that will catch attention, just like the "Daytona pole" of Danica.

Yeah NASCAR playing favourites again.

You'd think the Dillon's would be savy enough to check themselves out online and see what people don't like about them (it's not that hard to find) then try to make an effort to stop doing it, but they persist, like some spoilt little rich kid rebelling against their parents who said no to his second Porsche request...

Embarrassing how they tried to turn this race and the title decision into drama.

First of all, the champ doesn't even have a single win.
And also, the best guys in the series are not even allowed to earn points, which is kind of the biggest joke in the history of competing for points in anything.
So this championship ain't worth shit to be honest.

Funny how the stands are always empty when they hand over the trophy and stuff.
Glad we don't have those issues here at V8Thunder where racing is still authentic, the only way to clear out our stands is to press the o-key

LOL we were talking about that for Homestead, because the crowd is unrealistically big there ingame, so we were gonna try and thin them out.

Expect a Chase for the Nationwide Cup next year, NASCAR can't have another National Champion do it without winning, last time Kenseth did that they introduced the Chase (I know MK won 1 race that year).

They're talking about other major changes in 2015 too, like Heat Races replacing qualifying and mid-race breaks.... Somebody knock off Brian France quick... I bet Mike Helton must look at him sometimes and want to just push him out his office window.

BTW, I'm pretty sure I saw on a forum somewhere proper drivers points (including the Cup guys) and Dillon was 9th overall. So the 9th best driver won the championship....

Yea, I think NASCAR want to do something about this, but about the wrong thing like you say. He just didn't compete against everyone, unlike Kenseth who beat everyone that year, not just a fraction.
A Chase for Nationwide will not fix this or change much.
So yea, its not the problem that he doesn't have a win, the problem is he didn't beat everyone.

Would like to see those driver points :lmao:

And also, who knows who else would have competed for the Nationwide championship, had they not this rule, that you can only earn points in one series.

Probably just a matter of time till Brian France is done, he's putting a lot of jobs and money at risk.
But due to lack of transparency, I don't even know how much of NASCAR's screw up actually are result of his actions. However since he's CEO, it doesn't matter and it is ultimately his responsibility

Indeed! I thought that was very suspicious also, a red flag would have been more appropriate but that would have given the guys on fresher tires more time to pass Dillon.

Also tonight they threw a yellow for a tear off way up high in t3 yet when Menards car was throwing balls of molten metal out the back the race stayed green :lmao: Only when the car practically exploded did they throw the yellow...because Dale Jr had the best car on a long run and because darling Jimmie was running safely where he needed to be.

What drama they made out of that restart after Kenseth and Johnson gathered it up...that fender was damaged but everyone could see it was nowhere near the tire.

6 titles is a great achievement for the 48 team, to think they have gone to the final race of the season in contention for the title 9 times in the last 10 years is remarkable.

On the other hand looking at it from the standpoint of the sport, it will unfortunately mean more TV sets turning off, less bums on seats in the stands, less merchandise selling etc etc

NASCAR needs a new breath of fresh air just like it did when Petty, Earnhardt and Gordon dominated.

Was good to see Hamlin win tonight

I am stupid lol, haven't watched the race yet, but spoil me the results by accidently going on facebook and also in here :lmao:
Well, whatever I guess, no big surprise there.

The Chase makes it easier for the #48 team overall, but I'm not bothered that much by his dominance. There's tons of things that bother me much, much more. The Chase itself of course one of them

see, I don't even care enough anymore to watch them live. Haven't watched one live since Charlotte

The way how the Chase works favours the #48 team a lot.

Non-Chase system champions

In bold and italic the champions who would have won without the Chase system:

2004: Jeff Gordon would have his 5th career title and the 6th title for car owner Rick Hendrick
2005: Tony Stewart, first driver in NASCAR history to win both old points format and Chase system, would win either way.
2006: Jimmie Johnson would win the title either way in 2006.
2007: Jeff Gordon would have won his 6th career title – the 8th title for Hendrick and three of the last four. Wins by over 350 points.
2008: Carl Edwards would have dethroned Johnson by 16 points for first title.
2009: Jimmie Johnson would get second title beating Gordon by 66 points. 4 of the last 6 for Hendrick.
2010: Kevin Harvick dominated the entire season beating Johnson by over 200 points.
2011: With the new 2011 season's points format, Carl Edwards takes 2nd title in four seasons after clinching title at Phoenix after finishing 2nd to Kasey Kahne.
2012: Brad Keselowski beats Greg Biffle by 19 points, while Jimmie Johnson still finishes third, 28 points behind.
2013: Jimmie Johnson wins his third championship by 41 points over Kevin Harvick and 56 points over Matt Kenseth.

So it would have been Jeff Gordon who should have been "Six-Pack", Kevin Harvick would have had 1 title and Carl Edwards would have been a double time champion.

So Jimmie would have been a triple champion instead of six.

hmm interesting :D

I think NASCAR needs to randomize the tracks in the chase each year, because at the moment the 48 can afford to 'urinate' around for the final part of the regular season knowing that they will 'urinate' over the competition in the final 10 because the tracks suit them so well

Sure gives you an idea how the Chase changes the outcome of championships.
It's just ridiculous.
For some drivers making the Chase isn't even a real accomplishment, like JJ or Kenseth.
NASCAR will only be satisfied when the 5 most popular drivers will run every of the ten thousand laps each season 5 wide from Daytona to Homestead, and then finish with at least 3 of them tied for the title.

Not sure if this is ridiculous or scary:

http://www.mrn.com/Race-Series/NASCAR-S ... anges.aspx

I really wonder what the gonna come up with this time. Hmm, what could they do to incentivise winning even more? More cash? More Bonus Points? I'd say, get rid of the damn chase. I think the chase keeps drivers from takin chances more than anything else. Cause if you do it prior to the Chase Cut Off, you might not make it in. Do it in the Chase, and it'll cost you a shot at the title.
The best thing is to eliminate as many drivers from the championship as possible fairly soon, that way most of the drivers will only have one thing left to race for: Victories.

Well, whatever they'll come up with, I'm sure it'll backfire

prolly was the first one that offended her, where he said she's rarely that close to the front.
It's like mocking a surgeon for having a patient die on his operating table.
Well, not exactly, but somewhere along those lines :lmao:
So kinda understand why she didn't laugh, it actually showed integrity

Was too lazy to watch the banquet yesterday, but would like to. Hope someone's gonna up it.
I think a kyle busch roast would be really funny

LOL, F1 now awards double points for the final race of the season
Why double? Why not ten times the amount?
Heck, why not reset everyone's points before the finals race?
It's so sad
