I consider the reconfiguration of Phoenix a big mistake. Kentucky was indeed in a miserable state.

Yeah, they banked the wrong corner at Phoenix. THey should have banked 1/2 and 3/4 instead, make it like north carolina or so. Sure would have been nice.

Tell ya what we should do. Once real estate becomes dirt cheap affordable again I'll try to get my hands on a piece of land. There I'm gonna built a copy of Martinsville Speedway.

Then once a year we'll come together and race a bunch of used cars against each other for 500 laps.
Everyone better bring a black suit though for those of us who crunch out with a collapsed ribcage.

Hey, if you ever feel like turning your YT channel into a brand and wanna stream your own races or give commentary on NASCAR's latest managment blunder, "CrunchTime" and "RubenIsRacing" would be good names.

Doubt that'll ever happen, especially streaming races with what little upload I got. :lmao:
Talking NASCAR's blunders though I think it is worth mentioning that they actually did something right recently, like mandating air wrenches and reducing the pit crew by one man.
Some good cost saving measures that don't hurt anything.
However, the later one still does not reduce the value of a highly trained pitcrew, which is what they should have done. To save a real buck on personnel, they ought to increase refueling time instead, so time gained on tire changes loses significance.
But there would also have to be less cautions. Maybe there should be a rule that pitting under yellow is made illegal. Would actually make sense.
If you're not allowed to race and pass under yellow, why allow facilitation of it by allowing passing and racing on pitroad?
And those who absolutley have to pit, would have to make a 15 second stop and go after restart.
Of course it will never be done, because NASCAR like their drama

From a safety standpoint, pitting 20+ cars under yellow is bonkers. Collisions on pit road happen all the time.
They could at least reduce the speed limit under yellow. Indy would be the prime candidate for this.

Thanks Dom, I did manage to write down the weather but funny enough didn't even make it to the end of stage one before dozing off, maybe it was a combination of running round Chessington like a lunatic and then racing back to watch the Indycars that finished me off.

Ahh yeah, exactly how I wanted the season to start. I hope Harvick keeps winning like that.
Heck, have him beat Gordon's record. And then not win the title. That'll show NASCAR :lmao:

Man, how awesome are these new Indycars. Just watchin the race and they really look so oldschool. From the onboad camera they look almost exactly like the old indycar from years ago, because of the sidepods being back. That in itself is quite fantastic.

They also look great from the rear because the rear pods are gone.
Gonna be a great season, especially if they can maintain that 24 car grid :guinness:

Hopefully next year 25 or 26

Yep, let's take winds from SW. Wouldn't want headwind into T1. ^^

Cool that's what we'll go with, I missed it on the broadcast.

Race thread and analysis will be posted tomorrow (or later today if lucky).

What a stock shot, isn't it? So picturesque.
Oh, and it reminds me that I still got a NASCAR Racing 1 season to finish.

Oh yeah, it takes a bit of an adjustment going from NR2003 to NR1.
I think the trick is to underdrive a bit to keep the car turning.

So that was quite a race. Man, some guys really got knocked out good by the right front tires giving up.
This new Texas Motor Speedway really is a mean one.
The way Harvick hammered around this track was really impressive. He should fire his crew though, idealy from the driver seat as he usually does. :lmao:

Texas really can go on the list of successful repaves we talked about earlier in the year.
