Stumbled on this. Bit of language in there, for those with kids and no headphones.

I always roll in the throttle a bit so I won't get a habit of slamming the throttle - just in case I ever get into a real racing car.
[oh but nevermind the dozens of unrealistic habits I do in simracing... chchch :D ]

so what did I learn from the vid? that ALL you guys use exploits hence you beat me!

hmm... good points he has but I'm not buying into that it's-all-just-exploits proposition.
soo.. comming back: what exploits do you guys use in NR2k3? be honest! :D haha

So Leclerc vs Verstappen. Any opinions?

He has a faster car, DRS, divebombs in there, Leclerc gives him tons of room, yet he still runs him off the track.
Clean racing is certainly something else, but I'm not a fan of DRS to begin with.

The sky sports dude said after the race, we went from the worst race of all time to the best or something.
LOL I say the race wasn't that good. Wasn't even among the best.

Leclerc didn't even bother to defend the corner.

I personally think DRS should be disabled on the last 3 laps (like it is the first 3) to make it about pure racing, the system is a fake gimmick to try and make the racing exciting, so at least let us have 5 or 6 laps of genuine stuff.

I thought the finish was exciting but I was surprised to hear it dubbed "unbelievable" and "the best ever" like some people did on TV.. (I actually think Ben Edwards is in love with Verstappen. No wonder whatever VER does is simply great. Haha.)
I have a suspicion that RedBull gambled setupwise on the declining (track) temperatures towards the end of the race (however I did not check if [even...] Gasly improved his laptimes proportionally. So it's just a pure guess based on pure gut feeling and might be bunk). That said: even if it were so, it would still be a strong finish for Verstappen.
But let's not forget he had much fresher tyres at the end (were Vettel's even fresher though? sry, if I make false claims. I only watched with like 80% attention, at the end maybe 90%... :) )

As for "the" pass. Well very, very, very brief put: I'm afraid we have to get used to it, that pushing a car off track is the norm nowadays. No, I'm not a friend of penalties and cars touching and bouncing eachother is great but that's not even the point. The point is: what is the message to the drivers? Concerning.... unless of course you intend to go towards the direction of Formula-E which is semi-autoscooter thanks to the wheel-protections.

As for DRS: it's way too effective. I don't even know why they bother showing replays of DRS-passes. Haha.
Let's put the option of removing DRS aside for the moment.
DRS should automatically close as soon as the car behind leaves the slip stream (I would think that's technically even possible by utilizing the data from all the venturi's on each car... pressure goes up - DRS closes - both drivers need to solve it back in the braking zone again)
(EDIT: i think nowadays GPS signaling would be enough. The point is, as soon as a car goes next to another)

isnt the rule you need to leave a car width for your fellow competitor? Seems like its a rule for one and a different for another... Was disappointed with the pass, could've been done fairly. Either move him out the way proper like in NASCAR or put a clean pass, not a half-assed run off the road deal

I believe the cars width rule only applies before the apex (i.e. in the braking zone) which is why we see this happen so often, Lewis is one of the most guilty of this.

So racing back is not allowed hehe
I agree, DRS should be dumped of course, it is F1's version of stages or so.
All this whining about passing is nonsense anyway. F1 was never about passing, but about winning the race in Q
